Stefano Graziani

The lecture “Observing Documents” by Stefano Graziani will be part of the "Documenting the Colonial Archive" theory master class, led by Felicity D. Scott. The master class addresses intentional and unintended documents, as found in official and unofficial archives of Dutch colonial administration, as well as in Dutch newsreels and propaganda films, buildings, infrastructures, and other environments and media, both historical and contemporary.

Stefano Graziani is a photographer living aand working in Trieste. Trained as an architect, he teaches the history and technique of photography at the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Trieste and at the Forma Foundation in Milan. He is a regular contributor to architecture magazines and other publications. In 2006, he published Taxonomies, an anthology of ten years research on describing and classifying landscape elements. His other books include Under the Volcano and Other Stories, L’isola, and the forthcoming Memory Talks and Jeff Wall: Intelligenza liquida e altri scritti sulla fotografia e sull’arte. He is the cofounder of the architecture magazine San Rocco.
