Matilde Cassani

Matilde Cassani works on the border of architecture, installation, and event design. Her practice deals with the spatial implications of cultural pluralism in the contemporary western city. Her recent work involves projects for the Venice Architecture Biennale, Chicago Architecture Biennial, Oslo Triennale, and Manifesta12. She currently teaches at Politecnico di Milano, the Domus Academy, and the Architectural Association in London, working with Unit 11.

The Berlage Keynotes is an ongoing lecture series featuring internationally prominent architects, designers, and thinkers who are at the forefront of design discourse and innovation. A selection of speakers working from different disciplinary perspectives and in different geographic, cultural, and political contexts present how their work engages with contemporary issues and debates. This fall semester, speakers include MONADNOCK, Formafantasma, Lowie Vermeersch, GROSS.MAX., Matilde Cassani, HArquitectes, Kayoko Ota, and Annette Gigon.
